The Four Hijabs is a short film that I storyboarded and animated in partnership with
Silk Road Cultural Center. The film explores the multiple meanings
of four hijabs mentioned in 16 Qur'anic verses and interprets them through Arab-Muslim feminist lenses.
Inspired by Dr. Manal Hamzeh's book
"Pedagogies of DeVeiling: Muslim Girls and the Hijab Discourse" and adapted into a screenplay by Dr. Hamzeh and
Jamil Khoury, The Four Hijabs builds
upon the work of the late Moroccan feminist writer and sociologist
Fatema Mernissi. Our goal with this film was to create an entertaining and accessible way for audiences to engage with the
complex ideas surrounding the hijab.
My character design and animation work for the film were done in Photoshop, and storyboarding was done traditionally using pencil and paper.

I was hired to create a logo and short animated intro for Cynical Scents, a forthcoming perfume review channel on
Youtube.
The logo was hand-lettered in Procreate, and converted to a vectored graphic in Illustrator. The background, character, and logo
animations were each done separately in Procreate, and compiled using LumaFusion.
